DVDs: Case Study

dvd fantasy islandConduit Investments entrusted RNA to produce the DVD to underpin the key implementation stage in its multi million pound development in Skegness, and specifically the regeneration of the potentially hugely profitable Fantasy Island. Whilst being editorially seamless, the DVD had to meet several varied criteria and encapsulate a number of themes, from attracting additional investment to reinforcing Conduit’s adherence to local governance and its support for the region’s own developmental aspirations – and encouraging even larger numbers of market traders throughout the UK to fill the significantly increased capacity of the huge market halls at Fantasy Island. To tell the story, we filmed a wide range of material, from a helicopter aerial view of the region to the amusement arcades, Skegness’ “millionaires’ row” (yes, it does have one!), hundreds of the 45,000 static caravans, the links golf courses, hotels, B&Bs, the theme park rides, the nature reserve, night clubs, pubs, donkey rides . . . and Girls Aloud in concert. It all compressed into a high impact and extremely effective 8 minutes.

“RNA managed to blend everything together brilliantly; we never thought we could get so much in and so clearly. The DVD has had a terrific effect on all the target groups. Thanks a million.” Laurence Davis, Chairman, Conduit Investments

dvd case studyMeanwhile The Worshipful Company of Carmen engaged RNA to produce a DVD to promote the Company – primarily to attract new members, but also as an informational tool. This is believed to be the first time that one of London’s 108 livery companies has used video production as a promotional tool, and we at RNA are therefore very proud that we were engaged to carry out this very prestigious project.

Rather in contrast to the undertaking in Skegness, filming for “the Carmen” included tank rolling on Salisbury Plain with 19th Squadron Tank Regiment, interviewing students at Christ’s Hospital and King Edward’s (Witley) schools, prestigious dinners at Mansion House, Guildhall and Draper’s Hall, a Carmen awards ceremony with special guest HRH The Princess Royal, the historic “cart marking” which dates back some 400 years and takes place each year in Guildhall Yard and, using our drama skills, the reconstruction of the “clothing” of Liveryman Graham Cole (from “The Bill”).
